To me, these words mean that for all the pictures we capture, it's not the camera capturing them. It's really our eye. If you think about it, we have to see what it is we want to capture before we take the picture, if we didn't see it with our eye we won't take a picture of it.

I feel the most influential person in getting photography where it is today was Joseph Neipce, because he was the one who produced the first successful permanent picture. Since he did that people were able to improve on photography after that.
Cameras first started out as large as a room and took a long time to capture one picture, then they gradually got smaller and took less time, up until today where the fit right in your hand, they're light, and take just seconds to capture photos. Now that I know the history of photography, I understand how difficult it was to get cameras where they are now, and now I appreciate their hard work and how easy they have made it for us. |
