Shout out to Miss Nish for being the best photography teacher I've had.
'Oh Christmas Tree' Ornament Valley Market Fresh Snow Homework Wisdom Teeth Netflix What I enjoyed most about Christmas Break was capturing images of the fresh snow right after one of our snow storms as well as enjoying Christmas. I only had a few days to enjoy it all because I got my wisdom teeth out and couldn't do much after that. Some of the techniques learned in class that I used in this assignment was composition and macro. The majority of my photos were simplicity as well as close up.
I feel like a partially achieved my goal. I wanted to be able to improve my editing skills, but I'm still having a hard time with it. I feel to accomplish it will just take lots of practice. There may still be a little time but I think most of it will have to be done at home.
Thinking Inside the Box Giving/Taking When I grow up... Hardwork I'm not good enough.. Wasting Time The thing I found most difficult about this assignment was shooting good photos and finding a good meaning for them. I had ideas of pictures in my head but I couldn't put them together with Photoshop the way I wanted. What I found most rewarding, was the pictures where the subject was a person, because you can use their facial expressions or body position to really understand what the photo was trying to portray.
It was really hard to take these photos for my portrait mimic. It's hard to know how it will look after they've been edited in Photoshop as well as knowing if you are using the right angle or modes. I basically just had an idea in my head and tried to attempt that idea using my camera. Now I just hope it will all turn out the way I wanted it to.
I love how these two images got put together. They are both from different angles but it makes you think that the camera was under water/ice and you are looking up. This is one of Jeremy Cowart's blurred photos that I like. She's more blurred then he is but that's what makes it interesting. You can look at this image in two ways. You can see it as creepy, like the ghosts in haunted movies, or you can see it as a couple whose lives are moving too fast. This is more of a fun image. The subject looks really small, like tiny figures laying on the ground. But what you don't know is that it has been photo shopped to seem that way. It gives the idea that sometimes we can feel really small in this world, but you've got to make feeling small, fun. Portrait Mimic: Jeremy Cowart
Jeremy is an artist. That’s what he started out to be. He fell in love with the creative process, and began getting into photography only after taking pictures for his art. He then realized photography was his true passion. By becoming a photographer he earned a lot of respect form artists, other photographers, celebrities, etc. Jeremy has taken many photographs of many celebrities and the community, it makes his life interesting. There’s always something going on. His camera makes an impact in this life. That’s Jeremy Cowart’s goal when taking photographs. Knowing the value a photograph can have in someone’s life has helped him find programs to help others. All of his pictures reminds him of that day or the meaning of it, one only he will know. He becomes close with all of his subjects and makes a connection with them. I think that’s what makes him such a great photographer. What it is that inspires me about his work is how he captures and edits them. Some of his photographs can mess with your eye. Even though you may be admiring the famous celebrity, at the same time you have to look at it and think how he was able to capture such an interesting image. It makes you look at them in a different way. Another thing that captures my attention is a blurred motion. It’s almost as if they are moving faster than time. Every movement and every thought is in full speed. It gives a different emotion. During this experience, I was able to understand how lights are set up in a lighting studio to get different effects. I learned that it's not just the camera that does all the work. Lights are important. The way that lights are positioned can give you different shadow effects. Whether its larger or smaller and if it is harsh or not. I now know more about light settings than I did before.
